This is Master Gunnery Sargent Carlos Hathcock (White Feather) - He died in 1999 of Parkinson’s disease. He was a sniper in Vietnam. With a normal bounty of under $100 for the death of an USMC sniper his was $30,000. His longest confirmed shot was 2500 yards. He had 93 confirmed kills and over 300 unconfirmed kills. He was a genuine warrior that won a Silver Star saving 7 men from a burning vehicle. His burns were tremendous and he had to retire.
My Lord is priority #1 in my life. There have been things that happened in my life that have shaped my personality that I am just now coming to realize. In the last few years I have become aware of a time in my life that meant more to me than I realized.
During the 21 months I spent in Vietnam I saw little action but was privileged to know many Marines who did. I think this has colored my feelings about the anti-war crowd.
Americans can say almost anything under the protection of the constitution. That is changing with the anti-Christian PC group taking control but our freedoms are still vast.
It is sad to me that so many do not understand that sometimes war is necessary. I recently met someone who is a nice guy and intelligent but blinded by the left's "progressive" agenda. I find it a poignant fact that some people just do not 'get it'.
The hippie mantra, "What if they held a war and nobody came?" has been resurrected by the same aging group of shallow thinkers. I have a different saying, "What if they held a war and only one side showed up? Guess who would win".
The Vietnam War was a tragedy. All war is a tragedy. War is not always a mistake though. In Vietnam the USA lost over 50,000 men. These patriots served and held the steamroller of communism at bay for years. They were a part in the defeat of Communism. Our church supports missionaries in Russia. As a child I knew we were going to send missiles to Russia. Praise God conventional wisdom was wrong. I believe strongly those who died have a part in this victory.

The USA has been at war with Islamic people ever since "the shores of Tripoli" so long ago. They have burned our embassies, killed vacationing people, blew up our planes, tortured to death Americans visiting the Middle East, and attacked our military forces who were not in position of threat to them. They have tried to destroy America's financial base by an underpowered bomb in the early 90s. They attacked us on 9-11.
There are nuts that think the husbands on the Pennsylvania flight who called their wives on cell phones to tell them Muslims had taken the plane must have been wrong. They think it was really Bush that had the plane shot down for no reason.
I do not think it is a coincidence that the same people who called us Baby Killers back in the 60s are opposing this war.
GOD BLESS THE USA AND GIVE HER VICTORY.
We pray for victory so we will still have the freedom to send missionaries to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
