ANSWERED PRAYER 3

This picture has nothing to do with this blog. This is a Grandkid, David. He likes to sit there and see what he can grab off my desk. He is fun and really likes grandpa.

At the risk of boring my family I thought of adding another item to the ANSWERED PRAYER blogs. Please allow me to set the situation.

I was a newly married guy and we were childless still. That means we had not been hitched for a year yet. I was also a newly saved man and was rejoicing in no longer having doubts and fears of my eternal destiny. My bride and I were discovering the wonder of prayer and faith.

My job was a cook at a Greek Restaurant. I also was attending a junior college. We lived 20 miles away from the college and 5 miles away from the restaurant. I was driving a 1958 Chevy and had a eighth tank of gas. As far as I know my gauge was working accurately.

It was on a Monday that I realized my dilemma. I had to travel to college twice and to my job thrice before I could pick up a paycheck. A trip to school took a ¼ tank of gas.

My prayer was something like this. “Lord I am going to run out of gas. I have to go to school and to work and can buy no gas. Thank you for this car. I will not complain and will be grateful for any mile you allow me to go. If you wish, I would ask you to help me get exactly as far as I need to go. I really would like not to run out of gas but leave that in your hands.” Actually I don’t remember the words but do remember my attitude because it was new to me.

By the time I got to school my gas gauge read a quarter tank. When I got home it read a quarter tank. For the rest of the week it read a quarter tank. I got my check, cashed it and ran out of gas coasting into a gas station. I filled my tank, I think gas was 40 cents per gallon.

This was a precious answer to prayer and taught me several things. God is trustworthy and can answer prayer. God wants me to accept His answers. I am in good hands in those nail pierced hands.

God is good. God is great. So come on let's celabrate. It's Okay you don't have to sing if you don't want to, but you should still praise him in your own way.
