QUOTES FROM TWO VILLIANS

This picture has nothing to do with this post. It is I working, moving fertile stuff to future garden ground. I enjoyed this and so will our weeds.

-----------------------------------------

I grieve for the education that is being denied our young. The following are quotes from two very smart guys. They are vilified by the intellectual lightweights in our education unions, wrongly.

Benjamin Franklin:

  • "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."

Thomas Jefferson:

  • No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.
  • The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
  • The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
  • My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.
  • The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
  • To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical
Neither man was perfect but both (especially Jefferson) have been lied about and purposely misunderstood.

Side note: Obama should have had Osama wrapped in a pork shirt and chucked into shark water. I am glad he did not, as that would have made the next election a shoe-in.
