GOD IS A CONSERVATIVE - Part 3

After correcting the backward definition of the words liberal and conservative and accurately placing the left in their justifiably earned intolerant and unpatriotic position as separated from God we will look at certain topics and see where they are in Scripture.

Some of the hot topics of the day are (in alphabetical order):

• abortion
• blood transfusions and organ transplants
• Christian rock music
• corporal punishment
• gay marriage
• gun control
• homosexual rights
• immodest behavior
• open marriages
• partnering (wife swapping)
• pornography
• women dressed in male clothes
• women in combat
  

While 20% of my children and possibly a few (3) friends only read this blog I am asking if any other topic should be added here for an absolutely definitive study of the matter. Note the humor here, I am not really that egotistical.

Some of these are old issues but they have never been settled Biblically within the Christian community. There is a liberal position and a conservative position. The important question is “What is God’s position?” We will use HIS BOOK to determine the correct answer.

Please note, in Scripture some things are not as black or white as we could wish. This is because God knows better than we do which should be definitive and which should be allowed to be our opinion. Possibly this is a test of our ability to be gracious with those who we feel are wrong about non-essential doctrine.

There are several types of doctrine (These are my classifications only).
1. Non-essential doctrine: - You can go to Heaven and believe the son’s of God in Genesis 6:2 were either angels or the godly line of Seth.
2. Man’s verses God’s choice doctrine: - Some doctrine is plainly stated such as tongues, woman preachers, and tattoos on people. People can believe error and still be saved.
3. Essential doctrine is essential to salvation and believing error impedes your getting saved.

As I have rabbit trailed too long in this blog I will only cover the first topic - Abortion

GOD is pro-life and decidedly anti-abortion for the following reasons:

• God knows life begins at conception - twenty-six times the phrase “with child” occurs in Scripture. If a woman is said by God to be “with child” then it is obvious that God thinks she is carrying a child. - Genesis 16:11,19:36, 38:24, Exodus 21:22, 1 Samuel 4:19, Matthew 1:23 to name a few
• God knows taking innocent life is wrong - Proverbs 6:16-17 and Deuteronomy 27:25 are clear on this matter. Abortion kills 1.5 MILLION children per year.
  

That should prove that God is pro-life and not pro-choice. It is wrong to choose to kill your baby before he is born or after he is born.

I've included the attractive family of Springers because of the baby. Samuel is a post-born kid that is breathing air and giving joy. He has been my grandson since conception. From top to bottom and left to right; they are Samuel (Yeah!), Pastor Andy Springer ( a guy with charisma), Rebecca Joy (the first kid I really ever loved), Abigail (no longer the baby), Andrew (tough guy), Hannah (eldest grandkid, born the night of the comet Kohoutek)
