Things have changed. We all get the cute email with “remember when” stuff in them. That is nice and usually funny. I’ve been faced with a few incongruous facts. Kids today think they have a good education and know more than their parents do. This may be the static condition of youth but there is a difference now.
Good illustrations take place in many places.
- Counting back change is an almost unknown talent. Kids at the counter do not even try. If you ask for a certain type of coin back they nearly panic. Purchase a $1.73 item and hand over a $5 bill, and then tell the clerk you need quarters if they can spare them.
- A young male (over 20) asked me if WW2 was before or after WW1.
- I heard one lad (10) ask, “Why did we drop the bomb on Japan, they didn’t do anything to us?” His dad looked at him in horror.
I have notice some very obvious things getting passed over or ignored that should draw much attention. Therefore I thought it might help to define some words.
1. Irony
2. Hypocrisy
3. Stupidity
4. Ignorance
5. Willing Ignorance
I will do this beginning in the next blog. If the LORD returns before I post please find a dictionary. You can do this online or at the library. The library is the place where they keep books and where children should never go without their parents.
HTOITA hopefully
